The fixtures for the 2022/23 Premier League season are set to be announced on Thursday morning.

 

Chelsea will know for the first time who they will come up against on the opening weekend of the campaign.

The first round of fixtures isn’t until August – which might seem a while away yet – but there is plenty of work for the Blues to do off-the-field before they come around.

Thomas Tuchel is set to completely revamp his squad this summer as he looks to reduce the gap between Liverpool and Manchester City next term.

Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly is set to back Tuchel in the transfer market, with the club currently being linked with a host of names every day.

London takes a look at how the Blues could possibly line up on the opening day of the season should the club bring in four signings before then.

The Blues remain hopeful of signing Kounde this summer, with the Sevilla defender favouring a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have had the France international on their radar for some time now.

London understands, but a deal still needs to be struck with Sevilla to sanction the Frenchman’s sale.

With Andreas Christensen moving on and the possibility of Cesar Azpilicueta following suit, Tuchel needs a new right centre-back to rotate with Trevoh Chalobah in his back-three.

Another man who is on the clubs shortlist for possible defensive recruitment is Gvardiol.

The RB Leipzig defender only moved to the German club last summer, with his contract not due to expire until 2026.

 

Chelsea are certainly interested in the 20-year-old Croatian defender.

Gvardiol is left-footed, so he could slot into the left centre-back role, with the Blues looking for a long-term replacement for Antonio Rudiger, who recently completed a free transfer to Real Madrid.

There have been plenty of talks with Dembele and his entourage over a move to west London, football.

London understands, but there is nothing advanced at the time of writing.

Paris Saint-Germain hold a keen interest in Dembele and remain a threat to the Blues’ chances of landing the winger.

Dembele’s relationship with Tuchel from their time together at Borussia Dortmund could prove crucial in his decision-making.

 

Jesus is another one being seriously considered by Chelsea.

London understands there has been dialogue between the Brazilian’s entourage and the west London club with the Blues looking for possible replacements for Romelu Lukaku.

With Lukaku wanting to leave Chelsea, the Blues have been forced to scour the market.

Any move for Jesus seems to be reliant on whether or not Lukaku departs over the coming weeks.

Jesus has just over 12 months left to run on his contract at Manchester City.
