All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as they happen in our live blog on Thursday.
Welcome along to today’s football.
The Gunners have got off to a winning start in their pre-season fixtures, defeating both Ipswich Town and Nuremberg respectively, with new signing Gabriel Jesus already impressing.
Jesus became Arsenal’s fourth summer signing, following Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos to the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s side have a match against Everton in the United States up next in their schedule.
Whilst work is getting started on the pitch, there is plenty of business happening off the pitch as well with technical director Edu looking to add further additions to Arteta’s squad ahead of next season.
Carney Chukwuemeka, Lucas Paqueta and Serge Gnabry are the latest names to be linked with a move to north London.
According to reports in Germany, Serge Gnabry is set to extend his contract at Bayern Munich.
Various reports in France and Brazil state that Arsenal have made contact with Lucas Paqueta’s camp to confirm their intention of submitting an offer for him.
Initial reports suggested that it would take a fee in the region of €80m to strike an agreement, although UOL Esporte have since said that anything below €60m will not be accepted.
Arsenal are ready to up their efforts to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
That’s according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, via Sport Witness, who add that the Gunners are willing to offer £42million for his services.
As per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, United’s move for Lisandro Martinez is ‘imminent‘ as talks are at the very last stage: “Lisandro Martínez to Manchester United, it’s imminent! Board mission in Amsterdam revealed yesterday is described as ‘positive, successful‘,” he said.
“Long meeting with Ajax, agreement close for more than €50m. Final talks tomorrow: Man Utd hope to seal the deal in 24/48h.”
Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has given an update on Arsenal transfer target Carney Chukwuemeka’s future.
“Carney is yet to sign a contract offer that has been in place for some time now,” Gerrard told Villa TV. “I’ve decided the best thing for him would be to continue his training programme back at Bodymoor.”
Chukwuemeka only has one year remaining on his contract at Villa Park and negotiations have been deadlocked for some time.
Serge Gnabry and Bayern Munich are confident that they’ll reach an agreement for a contract extension beyond 2023, according to Kicker.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Gnabry this summer after missing out on a deal for Leeds winger Raphinha, with the Brazilian set to join Barcelona.
Arsenal are still in contact with Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans over a summer move to the Emirates, claims CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.
London understands the Gunners have stalled their negotiations for Tielemans but should reports that potential competitors such as Manchester United could make a move for the Belgium international be true, it could force the north Londonders to accelerate a deal.
