William Saliba: Composed an effective yet again despite the change in system.
Looks really calm when faced with the imminent danger of defending one-vs-one.
Rob Holding: Came on in his natural habitat at the heart of a back three and looked really solid.
Clearly, a leading voice in the Arsenal defensive line and could be seen constantly marshalling his teammates into position.
Everton put more pressure on in the second period, but he rarely looked flustered yet again.
Gabriel Martinelli: Moved to left wing-back yet again and looked OK there.
Like Bellerin on the right his starting position was very high with the emphasis clearly on the attack for the Brazilian in this role.
Mohamed Elneny: Nice and efficient in possession as you’d expect.
We know what to expect from the Egyptian at this point and his consistency is a useful asset.
Granit Xhaka: Tried some more penetrative passes in behind the Arsenal back line but couldn’t quite pull them off.
Far tighter in possession though and looked more confident on the ball.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles: Had one effort from distance that didn’t appear to trouble Everton’s keeper much.
Looks happy in midfield, but the congestion in that area of the pitch means that his athleticism and dribbling sometimes isn’t as accentuated as it could be.
Eddie Nketiah: Looked keen to get his goal and shot on sight when he had the opportunity.
Used in a two with Pepe and caused some issues for Everton with his movement.
Nicolas Pepe: Played as something close to a centre forward but couldn’t impact the game as much as he might have hoped for even if it wasn’t for a lack of trying.
Could have won a penalty from a free kick but didn’t have much to do aside from that.
Reuell Walters: Moved out to left back in a three, despite being a 17-year-old who’s played right back most of his career.
Walters‘ composure in these situations is remarkable.
Albert Sambi Lokonga: Looks so much more comfortable when playing in a two where he’s allowed to get forward more than when he plays as a lone six.
Reiss Nelson: Brought on at left wing but couldn’t really influence the game much.
